Coincidence or Fate
73Coincidence or fate, chance or destiny remains a hot topic for debate. Is it fated, or coincidental that you have navigated your way here and are now reading these words? Where would you be and what would you be doing if you weren't reading this passage now? Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
Since time immemorial, the roll of a dice has ruled the lives of many. Good and bad luck had often been attributed as the root cause of things that happen. And even religious people have often been heard to have uttered prayers for good luck; the more creative have asked that "Lady Luck" shine on them
Coincidental Design in Mayan Sundial?
Coincidence at Chichen Itza?
The Pyramid of Kukulkan at Chichen Itza served as a calender to the Mayan people. It has a stairway of 91 steps on each of its 4 sides leading up to a platform at the top. The total number of steps equals to 365, which is equivalent to the number of days in a modern calendar year.
Mounted on the platform of this pyramid was a sun dial. This dial comprised a complexed series of symbols representing the seasons in a year. It also made provision for the calculation of leap years. Coincidentally accurate?
Today, all that is left of this ancient monument is what has been left behind by those that had plundered it. Treasure and knowledge is lost forever.
The Nazca Phenomena of Peru
The Nazca Lines of Peru were built in ancient times. Back then, there were no known aircraft. And yet, these huge "runways" and lines run for miles and are clearly visible from the sky. A coincidence, perhaps.
Graphic symbols scattered around these lines were designed such that the direction they faced could be used to guide aircraft to the "runways". These enormous symbols were crafted with incredible accuracy. Another coincidence?
Also, enormous tridents were etched into the surface of rock formations hundreds of miles away. Every one of these tridents points to these runways. So many coincidences.
One can only wonder if these were indeed coincidences or, if these symbols were the result of higher beings or ancient technology that has now been lost to us. Though we may never have the answers to these age old wonders, they exist to remind us of how little we know of our history.
Fate and Coincidence
Fate is synonymous with predestination. It is often used in reference to topics on spirituality and religion. It advocates that intelligent design and purpose are at play in all processes.
Coincidence offers a non-religious, irrational explanation that is readily accepted by those that oppose any form of intelligent design. Its premise is found on the law of chance. Those that believe in coincidence usually believe in luck.
Whether by coincidence or fate, luck or design, these two concepts are but different sides of the same coin: opposing explanations to a singular occurrence.
There used to be a very clear line drawn between the things of science and the things of the spirit. Science was logical and sequential and spirituality was based on experiences and beliefs that could not be proven. It used to be that the two never met on a common platform.
This line has now become very vague.
The Divine Matrix
Recent years have witnessed the emergence of a new approach to science. Gregg Braden, author of "The Divine Matrix", states that scientific tests have proven the existence of a "Universal Conciousness" that underlies the very fabric of reality.
The following commentary introduces his findings. Please disregard the religious imagery contained herein. The person who created this clip, in his entusiasm to make it interesting, randomly copied images from the internet that do not necessarily represent the theme of this commentary.
The Holographic Nature of the Universe
"The Divine Matrix" is not a new religion or cult. It approaches the subject of "Universal Conciousness" from both a scientific and a philosophical point of view. This new found knowledge is in its infancy as far as the scienctific community is concerned.
And as I am not an authority on this subject, I leave it to you to draw your own conclusions.
Quantum Physics and Conciousness - Connected?
There will always be those that choose to believe in a reason and a rhyme to everything that happens. There will also be people who avidly oppose this view. Truth be told, I am not in any position to declare who is right and who is wrong.
People shall always choose to believe what they want. The debate on ambiguous topics such as this rages on. All we can do is to view the information available to us and ponder on it.
This article seeks to achieve only one purpose: to get you thinking. I hope that this information has been as thought-provoking for you as it has for me.

terenceyap07,
I too have been fascinated by the ancient civilizations in South America... I love the fact that their temples were built in a Chiasmus formation, which I believe is the purest form of revelation from God to man. I enjoyed you videos very much, as they are familiar to my belief system, excluding the "Big Bang" theory.. I believe that God is at the head and it is not coincidence at all. That said, yes, I too agree that we are each in measure a part of a whole, what one does effects the entire system. No my friend, I do not believe in coincidence.
Fantastic Hub! probably one of my most wanted hubs. Coincidences have really some meanings!
Take Care!
It's always interesting to read about history mixed in with theory. Thanks for sharing.
I believe there is no coincidence. Rather, there is a reason for everything, although we may never know, in our lifetimes, what that reason is. Nonetheless, the reason is there, to be known by someone other than ourselves, at some time, perhaps.
As for fate, I believe that some events are pre-ordained by a presence grander than ourselves. However, that presence also gives us free will, and the command to use it, in order to make choices within the grander scheme.
If I keep reading your hubs and going down the road each of them inspires, I will get no work done!
Thank you for sharing your special knowledge, understanding, vision, and encouragement to look at life in a different way.
I love learning about how we perceive reality, how we think and feel about things. I enjoyed your hub terenceyap07.
yes, i do believe that i was drawn to your hub at this point in my life as i too am in a journey of discovering quantum physics. i must say that there have been several enlightening events so far and am simply enjoying the experience. thank you for making this hub.
When I started reading your hub I expected it to end up with Erich Von Daniken's belief that Earth was visited by aliens long ago and to prove his point he's using archaeological phenomena.
Great hub, regards Zsuzsy
Wow..great stuff...I hope to see more
Not to sound like a total nutcase, but I happen to be aware that I once lived in an ancient Mayan city in Mexico, at the center of which was a huge pyramid very similar to the one at the top of this hub. In fact, it gave me chills just seeing it again. That particular civilization had developed a method to store knowledge in huge crystals, much in the way our modern servers now store information for the internet. Therefore, I've always thought it wasn't coincidence that I feel at home in front of a computer.
A great hub, terence! Always enjoy your comments in the forums too.
I dont know if it was coincidence or fate, that got me here but im glad i came here, as it has certainly got me thinking!:)
Ps, I must be taking things too seriously lately!!
I have a great sense that the intelligence in the ancient days was phenomenal and in this modern age we have lost an art of Knowing that was used without question among ancient intellectuals, philosophers and teachers. Although it was not a given that all peoples had this 'gift' there was an unquestionable ability to tap into a state of consciousness full of mathematical formulae that was indeed fathomable. Is it music or mathematics that is at the pinnacle of manifested thought, one or the other. A lost art of knowing, squashed by layers of corrupt thought. Have we twisted our minds into a decayed state wanting useless reasoning for something that was pure knowledge - knowing?
In the pursuit of knowledge have we lost this art of knowing? It is indeed a hub in itself.
Very unique hub. Keep it Up.
Do you mind if I quote your words. They are indeed profound and in line with teachings on states of consciousness and manifested thought that my teacher has discussed. Knowing is a level of consciousness that deserves much discussion and this will be pursued eventually in the school I attend. Knowing and Truth have paralells. Whenever I have 'moving' discussions I like to keep them. Teaching comes in many forms, knowledge comes in many forms.
Your words are incredible. This article is incredible. I have learnt so much. Thank you, my teacher!
Terence - Another great hub.
The mysteries that the ancients were aware of, are truly not all that surprising to me.
What is the actual surprise "to me," is that "we today think we are so far advanced."
Thoughts are things!!! - they are forever in the cosmic ether. It is not a miracle that civilizations have known things we know - or even things that we have yet to learn.
After all - if thoughts themselves are things - then they have always been - somehow, somewhere and somewhen!
Thoughts are things!!! - How else could an EEG machine work..... the EEG machine has to capture the vibrations of the mind..... and vibrations are things, are they not?
Early visits from other planets - is that not a possability?
Mankind is on yet another journey of awakening....... aint it great
Your hubs inspire thought...... and that is so beautiful!
I have been on the same track of thinking you seem to be on, based on your hubs, for years...... but LOL - I find myself far to lazy to do the reasaerch and write such comprehensive reviews. I take the less diplomatic approach and boldly and bluntly state my opinion..... That gets me in trouble as I appear to be closed minded since I state my opinions like any reductionist does - Turse!
Yet the truth is - I am always ready to make a new decision based on additional information.
The effort and time you put into your hubs deserves great applause and should earn you wonderful returns in satisfaction, love and hopefully monetary as per your needs and desires!
Thanks for another wonderful hub!
Neil
ps -
Two sites you may find interesting that both share information along your train(s) of thought.
1- www.urnatia.org
2- www.amorc.org
Thank you terenceyap07 for a fascinating and deeply meaningful hub. I believe that mankind is on the brink of a collective awakening, one that will change forever how we perceive reality and live our lives. Hubs like this play a part in creating that change in consciousness. Keep up the good work!
very interesting. thanks for the heads up. I never heard of the Divine Matrix up until now. thanks again.
Very thought provoking hub Terence. I saw these things on Discovery Channel and was amazed. It sure make one wonder, doesn't it?
Hope all is well with you.
Fascinating! I love to read and learn about things of this nature!
Very interesting topic I must say.
what you say it is very Fascinating indeed.. But the concept of god is based on blind believe.. if you go back to people who live in stone age they believed in SUN AND THE NIGHT sky to be god.. because they could not explain why that phenomenon was happening.. and now we believe a super natural because we as humans can not answer what is life or why is it.. thats why we need a simpler explanation that there is a higher power that controls everything..
I rather believe in Coincidence the god
Great article.
Very good!
Lol as a scientist obviously I'm biased to say god does not exist. But this is fact. Science explains the unexplained. But its easier for people to just say it is all down to god. Rather than open themselves up and look at what's really going on, its quite frightening really, so its just easier to say its god. I can see why people believe in god but god is just a explanation for what people didn't understand.

Very thought provoking, indeed. I have long been fascinated with the ancient materials and evidences you have presented. I would love to see more hubs about these ideas and, especially, about the South and Central American findings you have presented.
